ASI welcomed new Executive Vice President (EVP), Justin Whisten, who was appointed during last week’s ASI Senate Meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
Whisten is a 23-year-old senior from Clayton, CA majoring in Kinesiology Sports Administration. His involvement with ASI began in 2011 as a member of the ASI Activities Committee. Whisten was currently serving as Senator of Athletics and Recreation during his acceptance of nomination for EVP.
“Our organization is excited to welcome Justin as the new EVP. He was a natural leader as an ASI Senator and I know he will excel as part of our executive team,” ASI President Moses R. Menchaca.
As EVP, Whisten will be responsible for chairing ASI Senate meetings and keeping ASI Senators on task. He is responsible for appointing committee members and senators to ASI committees as well as serving as President of Associated Students in the case of Menchaca’s absence.
“I am excited to continue working with ASI in this new role,” expressed EVP, Whisten. “I hope to keep up the momentum that we’ve been building on all year.”
With Whisten’s advancement, ASI now has a vacancy position for Senator of Athletics and Recreation.
