Senator Candidate for the College of Arts and Humanities
Hunter E Sansom
My name is Hunter E. Sansom and I’m running for Senator of the College of Arts and Humanities. I’m currently a second-year Communication major and a member of the Barking Bulldogs Debate Team. I’m also Vice President of The Debate Club and an assistant to the Tutoring Program in the Learning Center. I grew up in and around this campus and am personally invested in the well-being and needs of the students here. I want to serve as a representative for the students, programs, and clubs within the College of Arts and Humanities. As one of the largest colleges on campus, I want to help make sure our students’ voices are heard and that their needs are met. As senator I would take it upon myself to make sure that the time that students spend and dedicate to this college is a positive experience that prepares them for future endeavors. Sal Solorio
As a fourth-year student majoring in Communication, I, Salvador Solorio, am seeking to represent the students of the College of Arts & Humanities. As a Campus Tour Guide, I have had the pleasure of inspiring students to pursue higher education at Fresno State. At Nutrishop Fresno, where I work, I motivate individuals to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Both positions enable me to help others. As an ASI Senator, I could expand my passion to help the entire student body. I believe anything can be solved through communication, and I am both able and unafraid to speak up and stand up for what is right for Fresno State students. Thus, I seek to serve as the voice for students in the College of Arts & Humanities.

Senator Candidate of College of Health and Human Services
Nour Basharaheel
Fresno state has been my home since I was in high school. For seven years this campus has helped me grow and now I want to help Fresno State do the same. As the Senator of The College of Health and Human Services I want to give a voice to an underrepresented group of students in ASI. I plan to use my experience from the USU Board of Directors, Mock Trial Board, and as a nursing student to ensure the students of CHHS have their interests represented by a passionate advocate. You deserve the best. You deserve a representative with the commitment, fervor, and drive needed to give students a voice and opinion in school matters and I am that person. The CHHS has some of the brightest and most driven students on our campus and I want to represent them on a campus-wide level.

I am proud of our many accomplishments such as the installation of the water-refilling station in our Science 1 building. Additionally, I am heavily involved in CSM as I belong to a research lab and am a member of several programs and clubs. Essentially, I encompass the heart of a CSM student who can also serve as your ambitious Senator. With your vote, I promise to work towards your success and help reach your career goals.
Senator Candidate for the College of Social Sciences

I believe that my broad involvement in the College of Social Sciences makes me a qualified candidate. As a member of Fresno State’s pre-law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta, and mock trial team, I’ve come to know members of the college from all majors. As the Media coordinator for mock trial, I have experience reaching large numbers of students and organizations on campus. As the academic development chair for Phi Alpha Delta, I have advocated for student’s academic wellbeing. As senator, I want to increase unity and collaboration between all majors within the college. I believe that in order for students to be successful, they must be engaged and involved with their university, and as senator for COSS, I want to make that a greater possibility for every student.

Jasmine C Pierson
I am a Christian, I am from Baltimore, MD, I traveled a lot throughout my life. I came to Fresno in 2014. My major is Victimology. My goal is to go to law school to become a Criminal Law Lawyer and a Litigator. I really love Fresno State and I would like to get more involved with the students here by volunteering, being in clubs, playing in sports, and getting to know the faculty and staff more. My goal this semester is to help students and the people of Fresno as much as I possibly can, I want to put others before myself by getting more involved within my community. One of the biggest concerns here for ASI is the Tax increase or Tax cut, I would like to ask students their opinion on it and I would like to tell them about the outcomes.
