Tonight, the Women’s Alliance presents the Take Back the Night rally and march in the Speaker’s Platform area on campus.
Tabling will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The program will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the Survivor Speakout will be from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Take Back The Night has been designed to bring awareness to ending violence against women.
These events are generally held during October, which has been recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Take Back The Night rallies began as a response to sexual assault, rape, domestic violence, and murder, and continue to be held all over the United States, Europe, Canada, Latin America, and India.
Take Back The Night at Fresno State is organized and sponsored mainly by Women’s Alliance in collaboration with the Gender Programs and Services component of the Cross Cultural and Gender Center, along with other campus and community organizations.
