Thanksgiving is a tradition that includes eating turkey, being thankful and gathering around loved ones. This tradition may vary person to person but Fresno State’s Associated Students Inc. (ASI) is working hard to make sure surrounding community children receive a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
On Thursday, Nov. 15 from 5 – 6 p.m., Fresno State volunteers will be serving Thanksgiving dinner at Wesley United Methodist Church.
“ASI feels it is important to give back to the community which many students reside,” said Melissa Ellis, Americorp VIP. “Providing a warm Thanksgiving meal for this community gives students a chance to connect with our neighbors and to get a true feeling of thankfulness during this season.”
Wesley United Methodist Church and ASI aim to serve over 100 people. The dinner is served majority to the children of the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club but open to all community members.
