Volunteer with Tree Fresno and plant trees at Campus Pointe!
Volunteers are needed for tree planting from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Campus Pointe, behind Maya Cinemas.
Tools will be provided by Tree Fresno. Volunteers are encouraged to wear work gloves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes.
To sign up, email brianna@treefresno.org.
It is best for volunteers to park behind Cinema on Chardonnay Avenue, close to Chestnut Avenue.
The mission of Tree Fresno is to teach the art of living green to every citizen and help make the landscapes at Fresno State an inspiration for the region.
Their goals include raising the Fresno ParkScore from last to the top 10% in the nation; develop the Valley Arboretum, a system of greenways, as a signature amenity for the region; transform rural cities and urban districts with community landscapes plans; establish a Veteran’s Grove and Tribute Grove in every city in our region; and demonstrate how trees and greenways reduce air pollution, energy use, stormwater run-off and groundwater contamination.
Tree Fresno has planted over 42,000 trees since 1985.
The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Tree Fresno at info@treefresno.org or 559.221.5556.

To mark this year’s Arbor Day and celebrate the Tree Campus USA recognition, students from nearby Franklin Elementary School joined members of the U of R’s chapter of Dr. Jane Goodall’s “Roots and Shoots” and U of R Community Service Learning staff and students for a planting in the Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (SURF). Three companion trees were planted near the Jane Goodall tree—which Goodall herself helped to plant during her visit here in 2016—to create a small dwarf citrus garden.
