Have you every stepped inside a super market and felt super overwhelmed at what you should buy? The Fresno State Department of Food Science and Nutrition wants to help. Their new program, Bulldogs in the Grocery Store aims to teach students how to make the most of their supermarket shopping trips.
Beginning October 23 and running until December 9, Bulldogs in the Grocery Store has Fresno State Dietetic students give tours in supermarkets to teach the importance of consuming fruits and vegetables daily, as well as ways to prepare and eat them in different, creative ways.
Bulldogs in the Grocery Store also focuses on nutritional content, budgeting tips, and unit pricing of food to get the most bang for your buck. Goodie bags with recipe cards and food samples will be provided at the end of each tour.
The tours will be given at Save Mart Supermarkets on 5750 N. First St. in Fresno. To sign up for a tour, email aras619@gmail.com
