The Cross Cultural and Gender Center, or CCGC, is a place on campus where students can celebrate who they are and feel safe doing so. Their mission is to hold meaningful and active dialogues that work to expel racism, heterosexism, sexism, and all other forms of oppression from our campus and community.
Located in the Thomas Building, their goal of creating and maintaining a place of respect, equal opportunity, and inclusion is felt throughout the campus with their extensive services and programs for students and faculty. Groups represented and celebrated include, but are not limited to, African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander, Cross Cultural, Gender, LGBTQ+ Latino/a, and the President’s Commission on Human Relations and Equity. CCGC also offers Confidential Reporting and resources for transgender students.
The CCGC also hosts several events each month. Specialty events such as Safe-T Plus, a private group for transgender students, is held every other Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. starting from August 31 in the Thomas Building Room 109A.
Gender Revolution, open to all genders, is held every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. starting September 7, Thomas Building Room 109A.
