Bud Richter Week of Service: Be a part of this first-ever Richter Week of Service.
On November 13, 2007, the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning was officially renamed in recognition of Dr. and Mrs. Richters’ generous pledge of $3.5 million to establish the center.
November 13th is also World Kindness Day, which reflects the motto that the Richters lived their lives by, “Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” In January of 2021, Bud passed away and the impact he has had on Fresno State and our community cannot be overstated. He, directly and indirectly, touched thousands of lives and transformed our community and campus in numerous ways.
The Richter Center seeks to build on Bud’s legacy by engaging hundreds of students, staff, faculty, and general community members in service as a way to remember and honor Bud. They invite you to be a part of this first-ever Richter Week of Service.
Several service events are planned as part of this week-long celebration of giving back! See their website for details on each opportunity, including how to register. http://www.fresnostate.edu/academics/cesl/
