About: May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirits. We would like to invite you to join us Wednesday, May 5th at noon PST via Zoom for a Lunch and Learn event to provide further discussion and education regarding Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women. While violence against women plagues many communities across the country and around the world, Indigenous women are ten times more likely to be murdered than any other demographic. These are the alarming statistics that highlight the epidemic of MMIW. Featuring Guest Educator Lori Jump, member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, Director of StrongHearts Native Helpline an 24/7 safe, confidential and anonymous domestic, dating and sexual violence helpline for American Indians and Alaska Natives, offering culturally appropriate support and advocacy.
