The Richter Center Service Leadership Academy is open to all incoming freshmen or transfer students who want to develop their leadership skills through community service.
The length of the program is one semester with a minimum of 15 hours of service with approved organizations and bi-monthly check-ins with your program mentor. Three reflection workshops (beginning, middle, and end of semester) and a self-guided orientation and trainings via Canvas will also be completed.
Students will make connections with fellow students enrolled in the Academy, a peer mentor who will help guide you through the program and support you in your transition to Fresno State and community members and organizations.
Academy members will complete a series of virtual and other safe service activities benefitting a variety of community benefit organizations. Members will be provided with a selection of opportunities to choose from.
By engaging in on-going reflection, coupled with service the community, Academy members will identify and facilitate their own personal and professional growth. In addition to the program requirements, members will be presented with other learning opportunities, specifically around the area of leadership.
